Under normal circumstances with school coming to an end and summer is quickly approaching most of us have major travel plans. But unfortunately, all our mayor plans are on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic so are our summer plans, BBQ, pool time, and all those fun outdoor activities. It’s been 2 1/2 months since the COVID-19 pandemic, changed our lives but for now, is a day-by-day basis until New York opens up. Once we can somewhat go back to normal I will share essentials to pack in a summer bag for mom on the go.
As a mom on the go, I like to always be prepared especially since we’re always getting calls from friends inviting us to gatherings. I gather all my summer essentials and created a Summer Bag for mom on the go. I keep this bag in my car. It’s easier for me to keep it in my car and save me the headache of forgetting something especially when you have kids. Sometimes if either my husband or I have to work we usually meet at the gathering right after work. Most of the time we don’t have time to go back home to get stuff and pack bags. That’s why I keep it in my car ready to go
First thing First you will need a bag. Whether is a gym bag or tote bag you need one to pack when you are on the go. I bought the Under Armor tote. This bag is very versatile, can be used a gym bag, travel carry on even a weekender bag. It’s very roomy and you can fit a lot of stuff inside. One day was going to a BBQ, and I happened to grab this bag and from that day on I made it into my Summer Bag, and I love it.
Neutrogena Ulta Sheer, always been my sunscreen to go. Is one of my favorite sunscreen lotion it has a fantastic smell and not heavy on the skin that makes you feel gummy. For my kid, I use the Neutrogena Wet Skin Stick is so easy to apply in their face and ears, and the Wet Skin spray for his body.
Cutter All Family Insect Repellentis is the one that I used all the time. I like this one because it has a better scent and it doesn’t feel oily afterward like others and it works. Mosquitoes love me and my son. After all the virus going around through mosquitoes bite, I never leave home without it. Vick Vapor rub is also an amazing mosquito repellent.
Me4kidz – Medipro All Purpose First Aid Kit
I LOVEEEE these First Aid Kit. I’ve been using them since my son was one year old. Always had one in my Diaper Bag and Little backpack. They come well equipped and very handy.
I recently purchased portable mini first aid kit, for a trip we were traveling before the pandemic and they were just perfect. They are small and compact but they hold a quite amount of medicine. In one bag I pack thermometer, Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl and in the other pouch I packed a first Aid Kit.
I can’t rave enough about these bags. They are AWESOME, very roomy and so versatile. I use them for my sweaty GYM clothes and for my kid wet swimsuits.
ZIPLOCK bags are a MOM’s savor. I keep extra clothes (Undies, under shirts, T-shirts, shorts, socks in a ziploack bag.
Vivaporu (Vicks VapoRub) been a latin family product MUST ALWAYS HAVE. From my Abuela (Grandmother) to my Mami (Mom) this is their CURE ALL solution. I always carry one bottle because its good for mosquitoes bites.
Aveeno Lotion – Is perfect for sensitive and dry skin. Always carry one in my summer bag. Sun can dry out skin.
Sometimes being under the sun, your lips tend to dry up. This is my favorite Chapstick all year long and I never home without it.

This is a comprehensive list! How big is your bag? LOL
The Underarmor Bag, it’s perfect size is not big or small but big enough to fit all my summer essentials. Its a great bag. I will post a picture of my bag. I just got my camera back from the repair shop.
You thought of everything! I need to go pack my summer bag right now using this!
After some experience that I had, I had to be prepare especially with kids. You know as a mom one minute they are fine and the next they have a fever, throwing up or cut, so I rather be prepare than unprepare.
This is a great list of items to have with you on the go all summer long. If I don’t prepare in advance, I always forget SPF and bug spray.
This is why I leave that bag in my car for that same exact reason. So many times I forgot the SPF and bug spray and the mosquito are eating us alive.
I am not a mommy yet, but I totally agree that some type of mosquito repellent is a MUST! I get bitten all the time so I try to have something on me that’ll help control the itch and keep more bites from happening.
After that whole Zika virus epidemic I’ve been so freaked out by it that I make it my mission to make sure I have mosquito repellent and vicksvapor rub ( this is a must have item in our home and bag) lol. Growing up in a Latin home this was the solution to a lot of stuff and it work well.
Wow, what a great list of things to be kept ready in the car! That medicine bag looks really useful!
When I first saw this bag, because when it comes to bags ALL KIND of bags I’m always looking for the perfect one I stumbled onto this one and omg I love. I just ordered one for husband so he can keep in his car aswell.
I think this would be good for single dad’s on the go also. Some cool things in your bag.
Yes it’s great for all dad’s.. I prepared one for my hubby, so when he takes our little one out,
Well I have almost everything you mention in my bag plus toys and more toys, lol! I just prefer the more natural choices to be honest.
Ofcourse the TOYS and LOTS of toys, we as mom have to load it up and make sure we’re prepare. I totally understand the more natural choices. Thank you
Great suggestions, thanks! I have sunscreen and chapstick everywhere. It always comes in handy especially since my family is always outdoors.
Thank you.. yes sunscreen and chapstick is so important especially under the sun. We have to mke sure our skin is protected.
What a great list! A first aid kit is a real must for us mums, I know my kids are always falling over and needing a plaster at least once every day! Sun cream is a big one for us!
I love love those first aid Kit Ive been carrying it in my bag sing my little one was tiny. You can add more first aid products and just pop it in your bag and go. This is a must.
Yesss to this post!!! I have 2 little munchkins and the last time I made the mistake of not taking eveything on your list, I regretted it 🙂 Ooh don’t forget snacks 🙂
Omg tell me about it. I learned the hard way this is why I keep this bag in my car.. oh noooo I can’t forget the snacks, I usually grab them on the go because if I leave them in my car they’ll melt my car is a sauna on hot temperatures that’s another post lol. Thank you so much.
oh yes, the first aid kit, aloe vera, lotions etc. definitely haha. thank you for sharing these suggestions and tips 🙂
You welcome thank you for reading it.
I had no idea that Vick’s could be used to help bug bites! Definitely bringing that on our camping trip this year.
Girl… that’s a plus. I mean you will be smelling like menthol but it keeps them away and it’s great for mosquitos bites. I’m actually working on a post on Vick’s and you will be amazed what you can use Vick’s. Try it and let me know the next time you have a mosquito bite.
OMG! ziploc bags are a MUST! no matter where we go or what we are doing we always seem to need a baggie. Love your list, so thorough!
Omg tell me about it.. I make sure I always carry them they come in handy I’m soooooo many ways.. love them thank you for your feedback…
Whoa I learned something new here! Vicks vapor rub is good for bug bites? What the heck! Definitely trying that trick!
It’s amazing… you can put Vick’s on mosquitos bites and you will see.
Great list! I always have wet wipes and extra clothes inside my bag just in case they soil their clothes or they get wet accidentaly.
Thank you.. Yes.. I alway keep Wipes aswell.. I knew I forgot something lol thank you…
This is a great list! I always forget stuff when I go to the beach, (or when I leave the house in general. haha) Aloe Vera’s a good one that I never think to bring. My kids haven’t had a sunburn yet, but those things happen! And I would definitely want to be prepared.
They will be days that sun don’t seem that strong and you’ll be surprised when you see the kids a bit sunburn.. I was like that always forgetting stuff so that’s why I decided to just make a bag and just leave it in my car.
I always have my wet bags with me. These are all great tips to have.
Thank you. Tweet bags are amazing I love them…
this is a great idea…I dont actually carry that much stuff though because well i have a boy and two clumsy girls so i would be cleaned out of a first aid kit right away!
Lol. I have a boy myself and omg it’s like I have three kids at once.. the first aid I alway have to keep restocking.. lol
Definitely good things to have on the go for hiking, camping, or just a day out with my daughter for any occasion. I definitely need to remember to bring the sunscreen with me more often. Just don’t think about it all the time.
Exactly and we don’t realized it until we’ll surnburn and hurting,.. it’s always good to be prepare and just keep stuff in your car to make it easier.
When you have a kid, you want to make sure you brought everything. Since I have no toddler yet, sunscreen and lip balm and water are must-haves for me.
True, but even when I didn’t have a kid.. I would always keep a bag in my car lol I will call it my emergency bag, I had extra clothes, accessories in the event after work I was going out and didn’t have time to go home and change and pack.. I just keep it in my car…
I have a similar Under Armour bag that I keep stocked with goodies/must-haves for races. Your summer bag definitely has everything you and your family might need to have a great time over the next few months. Happy Summer!
Thank you they come so handy… happy summerxz
That’s a lot! I try not to bring a bag thats kinda of big it gets me tempted to stuff it with things I donn’t need. These one though, I might give it a try.
It seems like it’s a lot but it really isn’t. These are things that I deft use in the summer time since we’re out an about parks, bbq’s and most of the places we go have pool.. I leave this bag in my car the whole summer.
All of these items are musts for moms traveling with their families in the summer. I always keep a first aid kit in our car too just in case of an emergency.
Yes always a plus… thank you
