When I was pregnant with my son, I started our home library. One thing I did regret, not ask my guest attending the baby shower for books instead of cards. It didn’t matter to me because I filled his library with books he loved and read. I can not emphasize enough, how important is to start a home library for kids before they are born. What better way to get a jump start on your home library with some of your friend’s favorite children’s book. I’m going to share the must-have classic children’s book to add to your library.
No matter their age is very important to read with your kids. I read to my son when he was a baby, toddler, and preschooler. Although he’s older now it’s amazing how he loves reading. I stick to the reading the actual book than reading it from a tablet or kindle. One thing I refused to do is allow my child, to depend on a tablet to read books.
Books nowadays are not expensive. You can collect books, form the dollar tree, thrift stores, yard sales, and the scholastics stores. The Scholastic Store Online has over 1,000 titles under $5. Stock up on picture books, chapter books, workbooks and more! Save Now!
Once you kids can pick out books they can actually choose the books they want to read. Here is my list of classic book that should be part of your home library.
The “First 100 “series of books are my favorite teaching books for when my son was a baby-toddlers. It includes colors, numbers, alphabet letters, opposites and much more to make learning fun. The pictures are clear and it uses age-appropriate vocabulary. I highly recommend this series of books to add to your kid’s library at home.
There’s no book collection without the “Curious George” series. This book is a long time favorite since I was a kid, and my son never got enough of these books along with the cartoons on TV. Curious George books are packed with fun, learning adventures. This book is for all ages.
