Once June arrives, is time to get our travel essentials and for most of us our kids are almost out of school. Your long awaited trip is just a few weeks away. Whether is a beach vacation or road trip as a mom you want to make sure you are prepared with the right essentials. I create a packing list for the husband and kid of absolute must-have travel essentials but I also create a list I can’t travel without that are extremely important to me and handy to have along. As a busy mom on the go, I’m very meticulously about being organized when traveling. Therefore anything that can keep me sane not loosing it, it’s a mom must-have travel essentials to pack. Traveling can be hectic and stressful, but if you’re like me that like’s to be organized then you’ll like my recommendations for mom’s must-have travel essentials to pack.
Travel Essentials To Add To Your Packing List
Here is our list of travel essentials to add to your packing list.
Travel Organizer
This is a lifesaver travel organizer, especially for busy mom’s. It has three zippers, the first one you can store your passport, tickets, itinerary. The second pocket you can store credit cards, money, the third pocket you can store pens, chapstick, and gum. Very accessible especially when you’re having one of those hectic traveling morning. It’s slim doesn’t take up any space in your carry on bag.
Wristlet
I always pack a wristlet, big enough to carry my phone, room keys, ID and cash and credit card. I don’t like carrying big purse at the resort when we’re going to eat dinner. It’s so easy and convenient to carry when on vacation.
It’s always a good idea to try and maintain your suitcase organized by keeping the dirty clothes separate from the clean in your luggage. I love this laundry bag by MIAMICA, it’s very compact to pack, but don’t let the size fool you. It holds a LOT of clothes. Is not a small bag. I love that it folds back to its size.
The Pills pouch is great to carry all your medicine, like Tylenol package, Benadryl, ex-lax, etc. I always like to carry over the counter medicine in packages and store them in the pills pouch. It’s easier to carry and throw either in your carry-on or luggage. If you take vitamins/ supplements that are large pills ( multivitamin, calcium, etc, the compact pill bag is perfect.
MIAMICA Blanket/Pillow is a great compact travel blanket and pillow. The blanket has a pocket at the bottom that will keep your feet warm. It folds neatly that won’t take too much space and it can be hooked on to your carry-on with the snap handle. The Plane gets very cold, that even the sweater you have on is not going to cut it.
I can’t rave enough how packing cubes are so convenient. They are very compact which makes packing so easy any suitcase organized. It’s amazing how much you can actually fit into these cubes. And needless to say, my suitcase is organized and I know where everything is. I won’t have clothes all over my suitcase.
Hanging Toiletries Bag isperfect for traveling just hang on a hook and you are all set without cluttering the counter space. Your toiletries stay organized and in place. This bag is the perfect size for all the travel size toiletries. For our trip coming up, I’ll be using the Herschel Chapter Carry On. I vary from time to time when it comes to any type of bags. I needed a simple roomy bag to fit all my toiletries.
Travel Adapter
My husband, when it comes to tech, he’s always prepared, and introduced me to this portable charger. When I’m on the go and cant’e use my laptop my phone is my back up. It comes in handy and save you from scouring coffee shops at airports for open outlets. It’s very compact and easily fit into any bag and work with multiple devices.
I always pack wet bags, Bikini Bag, and Beach pouch whenever we travel. Before arriving at our destination, I pack the wet bags in my carry on with extra clothes. In case unexpected delays occur you have extra clothes to freshen up. Some might feel that packing a Bikini Bag is a waste, but it beats putting your wet bathing suit in a plastic grocery bag. Usually, on the last day of our vacation, we hit the pool or beach and have to place our wet suit in a plastic bag to repack into our carry-on or suitcase. What I love about this bikini bag is that it has a waterproof compartment AND a separate side for a dry suit. Beach pouch is great to pack your sunscreen lotion, throw it in your beach bag and it’s all in one place.

I love to vary when it comes to my carry-on makeup bag and I keep it separate from my toiletries bag. My husband is always nagging me, that I don’t need another makeup bag. When I see a cute bag, believe me, I’m getting it. I usually like to carry a compact size makeup size bag, I purchase these and used one bag for makeup and the second, travel size toiletries, tampons, wipes, hand sanitizer, and tissues.
I like keeping my make-up separate from the rest of my toiletries. Sometimes I want to keep it with me instead of stowing it in checked luggage. And if I pack it away and something explodes at least I don’t have sparkly eye shadow on all my toiletries. The best cosmetic bag is compact but roomy on the inside, and washable with a spill-proof lining.
The 3-in-1 Travel razor, encloses a refillable water spritzer, a pre-shave moisturizing bar, and two individual razor blades. It really is a convenient on-the-go travel razor. As a busy mom on the go, with million lists for travel sometimes we do forget to shave. Trust me it comes in handy.
Although you are on vacation it’s very important to always stay hydrated. This insulated water bottle maintains water cold and keeps you from dehydrated under the sun. It also comes with a pop up straw design lets you sip directly from the bottle without the hassle of removing the cap. It keep water cold for longer than 24 hrs and hit for 12hrs. Once we’re ready for bed I filled them up with water and put them in the mini fridge for the next day. All I have to do is pack them in our beach bag for our beach, pool day or sightseeing.
I never thought of the idea of taking any snack bags because TSA has many restrictions on baby/kids food. Although they say they don’t on certain baby/kids food, I say it depends on the agent mood on that given day. As a mom traveling with kids we have to pack snacks, they get fidgety and hungry and the prices on food at the airport is ridiculous. So for our recent vacation, I bought reusable snack bags and was very impressed. I packed sealed snacks for the plane but once we arrived these bags did an amazing job keeping food cool and fresh. They are ECO-friendly and you can use them for your kid’s school lunch. Reusable snack bags are handy to have at all times which makes packing kids snack easy.
Bose Quiet Comfort are the best headphones I ever owned I never leave home without them. I love the noise cancelation capabilities. Especially on a flight I put them on and watch movies or listen to music. They are lightweight and fit comfortable. There are so many things you can’t control because it’s beyond your control, especially when you travel, but ladies blocking noise is something you actually can do and feel good.
Purchase my son the Sony Headphones and they are great for my 1o yrs old son.
If you grew up in a Latin household, you know that Vicks Vapor Rub (vivaporú) as many Latin called it, was the solution for everything from headaches and scrapes. What we once believed, today Vicks Vapor Rub has to be used appropriately. This is my Mosquito repellent, it wards off mosquitos. You rub a bit on your clothes, skin like arms and legs, clothes never in the face or near the eyes. Those pesky mosquitoes will not get near you. If you get bitten the camphor reduce redness and itching, place a small amount and cover with a bandage.
- Do not use on blisters.
- Do not use on open wounds.
- Do not use near the eyes.
Although it has a strong stench, I don’t care smelling like vivaporu, I put in on my clothes and skin area and those pesky mosquitos stay away.
Vicks vapor rub is great for headache and muscle aches.
Showers Slipper’s is a MUST PACK. Most Hotels and Resorts now have standing showers. And I will damned I will put my feet in there. I rather be safe than sorry. There are perfect for traveling, and gym.
Whenever I traveled I always saw other people on the resorts and excursions with this. Had to get one and I was impressed. Kept my phone DRY, and it’s tightly sealed. I was able to take pictures underwater. Plus it’s a safe way to keep my phone and credit card with me while I’m in the water. Nowadays your personal belonging left unattended is not safe. The last thing you need if for your phone or credit card to get stolen.
Personal Hygiene Bag
I always prepare one of these little bags in case of emergencies. I pack tampons, pads, wipes, body wipes, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, hair ties, chapstick, lotion and hand sanitizer. I throw it in my carry-on bag to airplane because you never know when things can go wrong. This a great little bag although it’s a reusable snack bag, I use it as my personal hygiene bag. If you spent all day flying need to freshen up, bag is discreet and no one will notice what you have inside.
I always use a good comfortable bag that will fit all my carry on necessities that I don’t want to pack in my luggage. Like my laptop, makeup, toiletries, wallet, and small items. As a mom with a small baby and toddler, I used a back pack. I liked having my hands free and not lugging a shoulder bag that at times can be uncomfortable when traveling with kids.
I recently purchased the Reebok Trainer Backpack, I was looking for a small, compact yet roomy to fit all my carry-on essentials.
Airports can be extremely hectics, so I rather be wear a simple cute comfy outfit. My travel outfit is casual but simple, because my #1 priority is pure comfort, especially when traveling with kids. I stick with a cute basic tee, leggings, sneakers, sweater or hoodie. Whether we travel in the summer or winter the airports and planes are always cold. Once the plane takes off it’s FREEZING, therefore I never leave home without a sweater or hoodie. One thing I started taking with me is extra socks. Once I pass by security and my feet have to touch the gross airport floor, I throw them out and put on a new pair of sock.
What’ travel essentials you pack when you travel? What is your travel outfit when you go away? I would love to hear all about it, leave them in the comment below.
