Packing Baby Carry-On
Traveling with kids is extremely stressful and far from relaxing so is packing their carry-on. Things could be worse if you have a cranky baby and toddler at the same time. When I get on that TSA line my stress level rises because of the chaos that begins with the kids. The constant changes in regulations by TSA don’t help make it a smooth transition when traveling with kids. As long as you are prepared and have the right essentials, trust me it can make your traveling experience easier. We’ve been traveling with our son since he was eight months old it’s been a challenge because every time I have to go through TSA is a different story on what I can and can not bring in my carry-on or backpack for baby. After experiencing not-so-great moments with TSA I’ve decided to keep my kids carry-on luggage, baby bag, and or kids backpack simple and it worked like a charm.

When traveling with BABY FORMULA, there are some things you have to take into consideration. Although you are traveling with a baby, TSA has a very strict policy on ANY kind of liquid bringing to the plane. Some people have experienced issues and some have not. The first time I traveled with my son, I had issues with TSA and his formula. I prepared his bottle like I normally would and stored extra formula in my powder dispenser. The TSA agent flagged my bag and grabbed my diaper bag to screen it, took out the baby bottle containing his formula. The agent opened the bottle and screen it with a strip. At that moment I was mortified, that the agent opened my baby bottle with those filthy plastic gloves. After that experience, when I traveled with my baby, I made sure I had the formula in powder in the dispenser and I will buy bottled water once I passed the TSA screening. Although their website, states that Baby’s Formula can go through TSA but is a hit or miss. Every time I traveled it was something different, so to avoid any aggravations and the possibility of missing our flights, I kept it simple. Below I listed what to bring when flying with a toddler. Airplane activities for 3yrs or 5yrs are up to you on what your kids like to make traveling with a toddler on a plane smooth.

As for snacks make sure all is sealed and If you pack boxed juice make sure they don’t exceed more than 3 oz. On my last trip, I packed two six-packs of organic milk, and since it was more than 3 oz the TSA agent took it away from me and I told me I couldn’t bring it. I was so angry because this was my son’s milk and I was traveling to Mexico. The last thing I wanted to do, when I landed in Mexico was to go out and try to find milk for my son. After that, I made sure my son’s juice or milk didn’t exceed more than 3oz.
