Picking a casual outfit for this holiday season can be quite a challenge. I know for many of us our travel plans are on hold and still not knowing the outcome of the COVID-19. As we prepare for the holidays we have to settle with what we can. Although this holiday season is not quite like any other in the past. Since most of all will be keeping it small and some will just stay home. I decided to update this post and compiled stylish selections for your Thanksgiving casual outfit.
I’m one of those, for this holiday season, I will stay home. If you do have plans and want a casual outfit but still look classy believe me you can pull it off. With a few staples items and accessories, it can be pulled off. Whether you are spending it with family or the uncomfortable first holiday at the in-law, this is your guide on what to wear to a casual Thanksgiving dinner. With one thing in mind, comfortable attire for the evening and with proper precautions. These budget-friendly outfits will keep you fashionable, presentable, and comfortable for your holiday dinner.
The main goal is to feel comfortable but to also look stylish and presentable while enjoying Thanksgiving Day with family and friends. For most of us as a first responder, we don’t get to spend every holiday season with family because we have to work. So if we’re lucky to get off we are just happy to kick off the holiday season with family, friends, and yummy food.
If you live or will be traveling where the weather is chilly and looking for a more warm cover-up. However, your style is you can pull off the comfortable and cozy look. You can switch up your sweater variation, shoulder cut out or the relaxed fit or a vest with some jeans or tights. No worries because each look you create, will impress your friends and relatives and at the same time feel comfortable.
However, If the weather is more like a warm Indian summer, then you can pull off the t-shirt and jeans and some booties.
You want a more comfortable, casual yet stylish look, throw on a cardigan with a basic tee and jeans. This is one the simplest but cute look you can also pull off on Thanksgiving Day. Depending on where you are, if it’s a warm climate you can wear dressy sneakers, strappy heels, or if in cold weather, you can wear boots. The results will be a cozy comfortable sophisticated look.
After last year’s NYFW, sweater dresses are one of the biggest hits. This is simply an oldie that just keeps coming back and I love it. A sweater dress is a must-have closet staple, you can wear casual or dressy.
If your Thanksgiving Dinner is more dressy casual like visiting the in-laws, then styling a dressy blouse with jeans or tights will do the trick. I love this look, whenever I don’t want to get too dressed up but still look dressy and sophisticated this combination never goes wrong. Ladies tights and leggings are your BFF. If your family or your in-laws are the type that takes NO for an answer and shove food in your face, stick with the leggings. You would want to keep the button and zipper on your jeans intact and not popping out. If you know you are going to stuff your face (come on is Thanksgiving who wouldn’t) I strongly suggest not to wear jeans. You can add a scarf to complete the look.

You can still style casual attire with a sweater and still look fabulous. If you are visiting the in-laws for the first time, “the uncomfortable dinner ” you can still dress casually to make a first impression. You can add a blazer with a scarf and still look stylish yet sophisticated. I love this look because it looks dressy and comfortable while pulling off the casual look. If you’re a heel gal, I suggest pumps to add a pinch of elegance and it will complete your dressy casual look for the inlaws. However, if you’re not a heel gal no worries, you can style flats.
Hope you get some simple causal outfit ideas to dress this Thanksgiving Season. All of the look are budget-friendly and it’s simple and yet comfortable for your dinner with friends and family.
