Are you curious about what’s all the fuzz on the BÉIS luggage? I bet that once you started thinking and searching about it, your Instagram and Titktok feeds were inundated with influencers and content creators raving about the BÉIS luggage. After almost a year and multiple trips, here’s my Béis Travel review on the super functional carry-on luggage and other travel essentials by BÉIS. Every frequent flier needs good luggage and a carry-on bag, and not having the right travel essentials can have a huge impact on your trip.

WTH is BÉIS Luggage?

BÉIS was founded by actress and entrepreneur Shay Micthell in 2018, you may know her from the show Pretty Little Liars.  Her goal was to create functional quality luggage yet stylish that wouldn’t break the bank. BÉIS is popular for its sleek designs and helpful features that aim to make traveling more breezy and effortless. Since 2018, Shay Mitchell’s brand has expanded beyond luggage to include a weekender bag, backpack, gym bag, cosmetic case, and much more. I have to say that Shay Mitchell will continue to surprise us with her sleek designs and colors. Her goal was to introduce us to a stylish brand that won’t break the bank, she exceeded her goals.

BÉIS Luggage-The Carry-on Roller

I needed new travel essentials, and after seeing the BÉIS Carry-On Roller and Mini Weekender all over my FYP on TikTok, I decided to give them a try. Post-pandemic, airlines have reduced flight schedules and jacked up airfare. On top of that, many now charge for seat selection, overhead bin space, and checked bags. I used to be a checked-luggage girl I’m definitely an over-packer but with how out of control airline fees have become, my family and I now stick to carry-on suitcases and personal bags to avoid extra costs. When I unboxed my BÉIS carry-on, the first thing I noticed was how thick and sturdy the outer shell felt. The padded handlebar was a nice touch too. It instantly gave off that durable, high-quality vibe I was hoping for definitely a solid first impression.

Specifications

I loved that it’s very light and has a butterfly opening, for easy packing/unpacking. Once opened it reveals a fully stocked versatile interior with garment restraints, a detachable compression flap with one zip pocket, one frosted PVC zip pocket, and a mesh pocket. You also get two separate pouch one for dirty clothes and the other for either, shoes or undergarments. One of the most innovative features of Béis luggage is the built-in weight limit indicator on the side carry handle, it allows it to hold everything you need without breaking the baggage weight limit. You can choose from the available matte colors: Pink, Brown, Black, Green, Blue, Beige, and Camel or opt for her limited edition drop featuring stunning new shades. With the 360, smooth-rolling making getting where you’re going effortless.

BÉIS Mini-Weekender Bag

I chose the BÉIS Mini Weekender bag because it meets most airline personal item size requirements and is ideal for long weekends or road trips. It features a padded laptop sleeve, multiple pockets, a key-ring strap, a separate bottom compartment for shoes, and a trolley sleeve. Its wire-frame opening makes access easy, and it’s perfect for overpackers who still want to stay organized and stylish.

My Love-hate Relationship BÉIS Mini Weekender

At first, I was really excited about the bag it checked all the boxes. But after actually traveling to a few places with the mini weekender bag as my personal item bag, I developed a love-hate relationship. I found it a bit uncomfortable to carry. It’s definitely a solid option for overpackers, and I would use it again for a longer trip if needed, but it wouldn’t be my first choice going forward. I’m incredibly picky when it comes to personal carry-on items, and honestly, the search for the perfect one is still very much ongoing. However if the Mini-Weekender or Weekender is the only item you are traveling with, you’ll be hauling it through airport security and to your gate, which can strain your shoulder.

How much stuff can it fit?

Overstuffing the mini-weekender to the top not only makes it heavy, and it won’t fit under some seats. That’s the few issues I had on Delta Airlines, on the middle and window seats in the Main Cabin and Delta Comfort, the mini-weekender didn’t fit. However, the mini-weekender bag did fit under the seat, in First class, or the aisle seats. On Jetblue Airlines, I didn’t have any issues stowing the mini-weekender under the seats. I’ve only traveled with Delta and JetBlue, so if you’re flying with a different airline, be sure to double-check their personal item size requirements. I purchased the Mini Weekender and carry-on luggage in beige, and while the color is beautiful, the polyester material does scuff easily. That said, a Magic Eraser and a bit of rubbing alcohol go a long way in cleaning it up just something to keep in mind.

Conclusion: So, Is BÉIS Luggage Worth It?

Overall, I’m genuinely happy with the BÉIS Carry-On Luggage and the other travel accessories I’ve added to my collection. The pieces are not only sturdy and functional but also manage to look effortlessly stylish something that’s not always easy to find in travel gear. As a budget-conscious working mom, I’m always hunting for value, but every now and then, I believe in treating myself to something that feels a bit more elevated. Spending a little over $100 on quality luggage felt justified, especially since my family and I travel often and needed something reliable and long-lasting. That said, I do agree with one of the most common critiques: the original carry-on can run slightly large for some airline requirements. While I personally haven’t had any issues flying with Delta or JetBlue, I always recommend double checking dimensions if you’re traveling with another airline.

With the rising costs of air travel and all the added fees for checked and carry-on bags, investing in reliable luggage and personal bags just makes sense. When you think about it, the price of the BÉIS Mini Weekender is about the same as checking a bag for a round trip, so is BÉIS worth the price? For me, absolutely yes. Whether you’re an overpacker, a weekend warrior, or just someone on the hunt for stylish and functional travel gear, the BÉIS travel essentials has a lot to offer though it may not be perfect for everyone. If you’ve tried it or are thinking about adding it to your travel lineup, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
