Casual Outfit Ideas
Picking a casual outfit for any outing can be a bit of a challenge, especially during the holidays. I cannot believe Thanksgiving is only 2 months away and the last thing you want to worry about is what you’re going to wear.Whether you want to stay casual, comfy or dressy, this post is for you.
It’s been low key for us the last couple of years since most of our family are down south so we just stay in. As a latina I love cooking a banquet enough for a crowd of 10 even though there are only 4 of us. After all Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family, overeating, with a few cocktails and of course football. Whether you are spending it with family or the in-laws, this is your guide with one thing in mind, cozy and comfortable attire.
If you live or will be traveling where the weather is chilly and looking for a more warm cover-up, a cozy sweater will do the trick. You can switch up your sweater variation, shoulder cut out or the relaxed fit or a vest with some jeans or leggings.
A basic white t-shirt is a must-have in a women fall/winter capsule wardrobe however a graphic tee or t-shirt remain one of the most popular clothing that shall be added to your closet. I love graphic tees, not only are they cozy and comfy but they add a fun and cute style to your casual attire. Graphic tee is so fun to pair with jeans, booties and if it gets chilly you can throw on a cardigan. A versatile cross body bag that can be used as a satchel.
Since the NYFW, sweater dresses are one of the biggest hits. This is simply an oldie that just keeps coming back and I love it. A sweater dress is a must-have closet staple, you can wear casual or dressy.
If your Thanksgiving Dinner is more a dressy casual especially with the in-laws, I have a few ideas to pull it off. Pairing a dressy blouse with jeans or tights will do the trick. I love this look, whenever I don’t want to get too dressed up but still look dressy and sophisticated this combination never goes wrong. Leggings are a women best friend and you can turn any casual look into a dressy one. If your family is the type that takes NO for an answer and shove food in your face, stick with the leggings. You would want to keep the button and zipper on your jeans intact and not popping out. If you know you are going to stuff your face (come on is Thanksgiving who wouldn’t)

Boots & Booties
You can still style casual attire with a sweater and still look fabulous. If you are visiting the in-laws for dinner you can still dress casual to make a first impression. You can pair a blazer with a scarf and still look stylish yet sophisticated. I love this look because it looks dressy and comfortable while pulling off the dressy casual look. If you’re a heel gal, I suggest pumps or heels booties to add a pinch of elegance and it will complete your dressy casual look for the in-laws. However, if you’re not a heel gal no worries, you can style flats.
Hope you get some simple causal outfit ideas to dress this Thanksgiving Season. All of the look are budget-friendly and it’s simple and yet comfortable for your dinner with friends and family.
